Do you ever talk to yourself?
My inner voice has a lot to say some days! Sometimes the chatter helps me process my daily experiences, and other times, it's a sly way for the enemy to sneak into my thought life.
I don't think "hearing voices" makes me odd. On the contrary, we all battle the voices of insecurity, fear and ego. But it's the still, small voice that we need to pay attention to.
We live in a season of multiple voices, and most of them can distract, distort and even deceive. Followers of Christ must constantly keep their lives in tune with the voice of God.
Matthew 18:20 (NKJV) says, "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
The keyword here is "together."
When I think of this verse, I see a symphony. I can almost hear the instruments warming up before a show.
Before the symphony starts, you hear a multitude of instruments out of sync as the musicians warm up. Then, right before the concert, the musicians look to their conductor and play a single note. The conductor goes on to bring each instrument together to play a piece of music in beautiful harmony.
Every human being is an instrument of God created in His image. And as Christians, we must work in sync for His glory! To do that, we must focus on who we believe in and then determine what we believe. We must all hear that still, small voice amongst the noise.
The body of Christ is diverse, but we must be in tune with Him. For the Lord is knocking at the door and asking, "Are you listening to me? ... Will you open the door?"
Will you let Him be the center of this extraordinary end-times symphony?
Will believers unite in the purpose of hearing His voice, reaching the lost, being baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire and looking for His return? Or will it be as the prophet Jeremiah wrote in Jeremiah 8:20 (MEV), "The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved."
Today, surrender.
Surrender to His voice.
Surrender to His word.
Surrender to His will.
Surrender to His way.
Be still; stop everything, and say these words: "I surrender all."
Psalm 125:4 (NLT) pleads, "O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you." When you surrender and tune in, you will feel peace because of the understanding and supernatural change. The Lord will continue to bring a new direction and focus for your life.
Let's do this together.
