I'm not a fan of automatic faucets.
They aren't automatic. They aren't even semi-automatic. My description for the faucets is no-matic. I also include soap dispensers and paper towel no-matics on my "not-a-fan list."
I feel silly standing in front of a faucet with hands waving in hopes of finding water. I've learned it's a mining process. I found a forked stick and hoped to find water in an airport restroom. TSA called it a weapon, so I just bought a bottle of water.
I feel even more silly when a guy comes to the sink I departed and, in an instant, strikes a gusher. Of course, he's new school and, well, I'm not.
As I try to help marketing clients, I stress the importance of showing up every day. Showing up for your audience should become automatic.
The faucet may work for a few days or weeks, but it usually doesn't take long for the process to become no-matic.
Find a stick and mine for people to help by showing up every day with a message of hope.
Just don't try to clear security with your stick.
