Training is not optional.
Somewhere along the way, we have become too busy to conduct regular training. We may offer an introductory review of a few policies, but core training of company values, beliefs and systems seems to have been lost in the shuffle of busyness.
Training is a process not an event.
Leaders become frustrated when team members fail. Employees find out what they "did wrong" largely through trial and error. The best information tends to flow from the grapevine. Unfortunately, in most organizations, vineyard training is led by sun dried raisins.
- Do you have a training curriculum?
- Does the company calendar include training dates with assigned reading? Is a leader conducting training at least every month?
- Does your training program include show and tell?
Jesus was a masterful teacher of His disciples. He modeled. He lectured. He told stories. He taught through object lessons as he walked. He repeated lessons often. His lessons were memorable and life changing.
I don't think there was a day with Jesus in which he was too busy to teach.
Legacy leaders are known by their gift of teaching.
More is better.
