supernatural (adj) – unable to be explained by science or the laws of nature; departing from what is usual or normal; of or relating to God
Far too many Christian leaders languish within a normal, natural business of simply survival or trying to apply biblical principles at work (which the enemy can do too).
But what about doing business supernaturally in the fullness and power of Holy Spirit?
Does this thought make your spirit jump? At minimum intrigue you?
If yes, then here are the four major power tools available to believers to do supernatural business.
4 Power Tools for Your Supernatural Business
Power Tool #1: Holy Spirit
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. ... The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God" (Rom. 8:14, 16).
It all begins with Holy Spirit. He is the power that Jesus died to give to us to do His work (Luke 24:49). My book, Our Unfair Advantage, teaches a pragmatic, step-by-step process to better connect with Holy Spirit and to more clearly hear His voice.
Power Tool #2: Fruit of the Spirit
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law. ... f we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" (Gal. 5:22-23, 25).
A powerful witness to Holy Spirit living within you is how your walk the talk; that is, how you demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in your work. This is the first "rubber meets the road" test. If we are indeed alive in the Spirit. we should walk in the Spirit.
Power Tool #3: Gifts of the Spirit
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyone for the common good. To one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But that one and very same Spirit works all these, dividing to each one individually as He will.
Are you still with me, or are you about to delete this post?
Please—just hold on for just a few seconds.
Have you ever walked by or hung out with a workmate and just "knew" something was wrong? How did you know? Something inside—something deep inside you—told you that this person needed perhaps a word of encouragement (prophecy), or gave you an insight into their problem (word of wisdom), or you could sense a deep depression, worry, or anxiety (discerning of spirits).
Every one of you have. So have I.
These are real, simple examples of the manifestation of Holy Spirit from within you for the edification of others. These gifts are power tools available to any believer who—believes.
Power Tool #4: Five-Fold Leadership
"He gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the equipping of the saints, for the work of service, and for the building up of the body of Christ" (Eph. 4:11-12).
What would a modern-day workplace comparison of these critical leadership roles (not titles) potentially look like?
- Apostle = CEO
- Prophet = president, COO
- Evangelist = sales/marketing
- Pastor = manager/supervisor
- Teacher = trainer/coach
These five equally important, non-hierarchical roles constitute God's prescribed functions within a fully functioning organization to do supernatural business.
Power Tools Unleashed
Imagine the collective impact of these tools upon your workplace, your colleagues, your customers, your vendors and yes, your bottom line.
Imagine working under and alongside others who are properly equipped to unleash these supernatural power tools from heaven.
Imagine the most important thing: the eternal impact from releasing these gifts!
This is where we are headed: toward equipping and releasing believers to do business supernaturally.
