Among the winners of PreachingToday.com's annual Preaching
Today Book Awards are a biography of a major theological figure of the 20th
century and an expository volume on the Old Testament as source material for
sermons.
Chosen by votes from preaching experts and the editors of PreachingToday.com, the books of the year were divided into two categories—Enhancing the Preacher's Skill and Feeding the Preacher's Soul.
Bonhoeffer, the biography of the German theologian and pastor by Eric Metaxas, was selected in the Feeding the Preacher's Soul category.
In the Enhancing the Preacher's Skill category, the winner was Reclaiming the Old Testament for Christian Preaching by Grenville J. R. Kent, Paul J. Kissling and Laurence A. Turner, editors, while Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church by Michael Lawrence took second place.
