QUOTE: "We're supposed to be revolutionaries. And that's odd that that sounds odd in this world, but it's because the church has embraced the status quo instead of embracing what Jesus Christ brought into this world, which was revolution. … We have shut Jesus out of the church, and by shutting Jesus out of the church we have become everything contrary, antithetical to what Jesus wants the church to be. We need to let Jesus back in the church so that revolution can begin again; so our churches, instead of being turned inward, will turn outward again; so that our churches, instead of being exclusive little clubs, parks and recreation for the middle class, will become inclusive again. We have to create a mission that is revolutionary." —Brad Powell, senior pastor of NorthRidge Church in Plymouth, Mich., during his nine-minute video presentation as part of "The Nines" conference held online on 9/9/09. More than 20,000 people tuned in throughout the day to hear nine-minute video messages made specifically for pastors and church leaders as part of the free virtual conference, which was organized by Leadership Network and Catalyst. Jesus stayed local. He didn't travel very far, but ministered wherever He was whenever He was there. Later some stayed local and some went on walkabout.
The mission field is wherever you are whenever you're there. We are all missionaries... wherever we are whenever we're there!
At least that is what I see Jesus has called us to be.
Who is your neighbor?
Loving God includes loving your neighbor as yourself.
THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE IN WORD AND IN DEED.
